A Community of people with nowhere to turn, will have an opportunity to turn their lives around. We are a self-help, God-help organization for substance abusers, ex-convicts, homeless and others who feel they have hit rock bottom. We will educate and empower those that may have been drug and alcohol abusers, others that have been in prison, those that are unskilled, functionally illiterate, and others that have a personal history of violence and generations of poverty.
I Am My Brother’s Keeper is a total learning center in which residents learn (and teach) the bible, academics, vocational skills, personal, interpersonal, practical and social survival skills. We believe the best way to learn is to teach. Helping others is an important way to earn self-reliance and God reliance.
We believe that people can learn to live drug free, crime free lives of purpose and integrity. Rather than following a medical or a therapeutic model, we’ve developed a spiritually educational model to solve social problems. We teach people to find and develop their strengths rather than only focusing on their problems, by cultivating a sincere relationship with God and mankind.
Economic development and entrepreneurial boldness are central to our model’s financial self-sufficiency and to teaching residents self-reliance and life skills.
